my beardie sleeps standing up in a corner, is this normal?
I just got my first Bearded Dragon today.. I do own other reptiles [leopard geckos] But this is my first time owning a beardie. Surprised me how much more docile he is than my leos.
If you can give me info, i would really appreciate it. Ive already checked out a few care sheets & different sites.
Also, does he NEED a nightlight? And how can i keep his tank warm at night if i have to turn off his heat lamp? I know he needs roughly 12hr days & 12hrs nights, but im still new to alot of things. I DO have a heat pad underneath, but i know they dont really absorb heat from thier bellies like leos do.
Please advise.
Also, do they shed when they grow? He’s asleep standing on his hind legs against the glass. Is he fine?
Don’t you just love how “user friendly” beardies are!!! Yes, the sleeping practically upright is normal for a Beardie. Concerning your heat question, check your local pet store for a Moonlight bulb. You may want to invest in a timer to switch bulbs from UV to Moonlight, easier than having to remember to switch one light on, one light off…
And yes, they shed as they grow, same as your other lizards.
