Bearded Dragon Holes
Is it normal for a bearded dragon to dig holes?

My male Bearded dragon digs holes in the corner of his tank. He continues to dig although he has reach the glass bottom of the tank. Is it safe?

Do you have a gradient of temperatures throughout the tank? They need a hot basking area, but they also need a place to cool off a bit. He could just be keeping himself busy. I have a Savannah Monitor that does that sometimes. I wouldn’t worry too much. As for it being safe, your Beardie isn’t going to crack the glass or anything. I would suggest you make sure there is a warm side and a cool side of his tank and give him a place to hide on the cool side of the tank so he could get out of the heat if he wants to. Hope this helps.

The bearded dragon got its name from the spiky flap of skin around its snout. The flap puffs up like a bristly beard when the bearded dragon feels threatened. But the bearded dragon is not nearly as ferocious as it, looks, preferring to run away rather than get into a fight. Natives of the Australian interior, these lizards are popular pets.
