My sandfire bearded dragon is very sick. He is starting to lose his vision and he can’t eat, what should I do?
We got him about five years ago, and we don’t no his age. He is starting to lose his vision and he won’t eat his food. We tried many methods but none of them work. He is getting worse every day. I am really scared because, I am afraid I am going to wake up one morning and he is going to be dead in his cage because of starvation. He also keeps flipping and I am not sure what it is. We feed her crickets, collard greens and I give him a bath about every two weeks. He also has a companion named Buddy, who is very healthy and is a bearded dragon. I am really scared for his life and I am asking for help.
Sounds like Buddy, the other dragon may be dominating him..keeping him from eating, stressing him out, etc. Especially if they are both males, this is not uncommon. Dragons also should not be housed together. It also sounds like he could be suffering from calcium deficiency, possible MBD (metabolic bone disease). Do you have a UVB light? These need to be change ever 6-12 months. He really needs to be seen by a herp vet. I can’t say for sure what the cause is, and even if I could he needs to be seen before we can determine what type of treatment he needs. It also sounds like he could be impacted…whens the last time he went to the bathroom?
