Will my bearded dragon get chaffing?
I have a baby beardie and the floor of his enclosure is made up of sand, do you think its possible that the sand could get stuck in his little arm pits and under his knees and all those little folds of his skin and wear away at him when he walks and moves?
Just don’t use the sand they sell at pet stores. It is not safe and yes it does cause impaction as others have told you. Use washed play sand and if you are still worried about them eating some when eating their food, build them feeding platforms.
