Im thinking of getting a bearded dragon?

I really want a bearded dragon can anyone tell me where to go to get one (eg petland Petco or petsmart), and how much the approximate price. id also like a link to a bearded dragon site that has a care sheet and info, unless you can tell me. also can anyone tell me if a Beardy is the best house with the Lizard to keep or something else, if anything id like info on that as well. thank you if you answer;)

GENERAL River or Central Bearded Dragon (Pogona vitticeps) is quickly becoming one of the most popular lizards in the PET business. A moderate size lizard, reaching a maximum length of about 22 inches (half of which is tail), it has a melow dispostion and seem to enjoy interacting with people. A native of south central Australia (see range map at right) Pogona viticeps can be found on dry, stony, semi-desert regions and arid open woodlands. They are diurnal (active during the day) and seem to fall asleep within minutes after the light goes out at night. With proper care bearded dragons have lived 10 years in captivity. Because of very restrictive wildlife export laws in Australia, all persons in the U.S. are captive bred from founder animals imported from Europe. HOUSING In the first playing a relatively simply enclosure is preferred, either glass aquarium or large plastic enclosure. A screen cover is recommended primarily to protect the Lizard from children and / or other pets. Within the first year of the dragon will grow to nearly full length, so while a 10 gallon aquarium may be suitable for a new Hatchling before 6 months or less the animal will require an enclosure 24 inches long (eg a 20 gallon long aquarium). As adults, a 50 gal tank (or more) is preferable, especially if two or more animals to be housed together. As adult bearded dragons love to climb branches and bask, be sure if more animals are housed in a large cabinet to give several species locations. They also have the advantage of hiding spots. Females especially appreciate having a safe place to flee from the man's attentions during breeding season. SUBSTRATE u can use all types .. I prefer paper towel or newspaper, or reptile carpet (terrarium liner) temperature As with most lizards a thermal gradient is required. On the "hot" end of basking in temperatures of 95 ° – 105 ° F (34 ° – 41 ° C) suitable for the Hatchling, the adults preferred 88 ° – 95 ° F (31 ° – 37 ° C). The cool end of the enclosure should be room temperature, and at night can drop as low as 60 ° F (16 ° C). Temperatures can be achieved with a combination of either hot stones or during the heating source during one half of the shell and glowing light on the species site. Be careful to monitor temperatures thoroughly before placing the dragon in the Cabinet. A 100 W light bulb will quickly "cook" a baby dragon in a 10-gallon tank. Be sure that there is a "cool" end, the dragon can escape to if needed. If a hot stone is used, check its surface for hot spots, and be sure to have a secure screen lid; babies can climb up the cord and escape. Red incandescent lights or ceramic heaters are not recommended as a daytime heat sources, only standard white bulbs. Lights must be at 12-14 hours, with the tank heat source or hot stone back in 24 hours to be a source of nighttime heat. Nighttime temperatures can drop to 60 ° -70 ° F (16 ° – 21 ° C). LIGHTING Besides the incandescent bulb are used to provide heat and stimulating daytime activities, full spectrum (UVB) fluorescent lamps should be placed on top of the tank, preferably within 12 inches of dragons, without glass or acrylic to prevent UVB exposure. Although experiments are ongoing to determine the exact effect this has growing lizards, it is believed that these bulbs have a role in the synthesis of vitamin D3 and calcium absorption. Exposure to natural sunlight for several hours a day, with access to shade as needed, is a good alternative. WATER Water should always be provided in a shallow dish or bowl (jar lids work well for young people) that the lizard can see in and drink out of easy. Water must be changed daily and the bowl disinfected regularly. A daily misting seems to be beneficial, especially for Hatchling. Food while draws are primarily Insect eaters, they enjoy a varied diet, including dark green greens (such as collard greens, kale, red-tipped leaf lettuce, mustard greens, hibiscus flowers) and finely chopped or grated vegetables. Appropriate size crickets (approximately 1 / 3 the size of the lizard's head, the width (width of prey = 1 / 3 width the lizard's head) or volume) constitute the basis of their diet with mealworms, wax worms and king mealworms (Zoophobas) provide black lizard older than a month. Be sure at your feeder insects are even well-fed. Subadult to adult dragons can even appreciate an occasional pinky mouse. Because of their rapid growth, food be supplemented with a calcium / vitamin mix (eg four parts calcium carbonate (eg, Rep-Cal) to one part reptile vitamin (Reptivite, Herptivite or Herpcare cricket dust). Grants are normally takes the form of "dusting" food for powder just before feeding. If dragons kept on sand, food should either be introduced in a smooth-sided bowl, deep enough to keep food in, but low enough f
